Anyone of you who has been fingerprinted and had interview with USCIS,
How long did you take to be given a schedued appointment for interview after the fingerprint? Did you have an interview right after the fingerprint?
Is that possible to have it both on the same day?
I am asking you because I would like to travel outside of the country with AP as soon as I have my fingerprint done.
If I would be nortified of the interview date right after the figerprint, I would rather stay to finish everything before travel. That way, I won't cause any troubles, right?

Australian Immigration Minister Chris Evans announced recently a new agreement between Australia and New Zealand to improve identity checks and border security. Australia and New Zealand recently signed a memorandum of understanding [MoU] to share biometric data, an agreement that will further strengthen our nations' border security. Biometrics is widely used in the international community as an effective tool to manage visa and immigration processes, improve identity management and combat fraud.
At the Five Countries Conference (FCC) in London a memorandum of understanding was signed between Australia and New Zealand. The Conference enables Five data sharing Countries to exchange information and agree a way forward to improve border security. FCC data-sharing helps to establish the true identity of people whose identities or nationalities were previously unknown or uncertain, and has been used in Australia to check the identities of irregular maritime arrivals, other people in immigration detention and illegal foreign fishers. Since 2006, more than 100 000 fingerprint records have been exchanged, helping Australia and FCC partner countries to establish the true identities and immigration histories of people whose identities were unknown or uncertain. Hi, my I94 expires on Nov 28th and my current employer is having issues in applying for transfer (they applied but without proper documents and it is still pending). I know I can continue to work based on the extension receipt they have even after Nov 28th.
I have some questions in the scenario that this application of extension (old employer) is denied after Nov 28th say on Dec 10th:
1) If a new employer applies for H1b transfer before Nov 28th and I get a rejection on Dec10th (with old one), can I immediately switch to the new employer (based on their transfer receipt) and continue work with the new one?
2) If the new employer is unable to apply before Nov28th (with holidays coming up), but say applies on Dec5th. Now if I get a rejection with old employer on Dec10th, can I switch to new employer on Dec10th and continue working (even though they applied for transfer after my I94 expiration but while my stay was legal) ?
Appreciate your responses at this crucial time.

I had applied for my I-140 to seek an extension from Oct-09 to OCT-10..Instead I recieved an I-140 with expiry date of Oct-09 itself..what to do now..I know its a genuine mistake..but not sure how to get that addressed..:confused:

Could you all please give me an opinion on this situation? I am trying to ask my lawyer, but I won't know for a few days and this is disturbing me a lot!
I am on H1, 7th year extension. My Labor just got approved. About to file 140. Now my project has apparently lost funding and the employer is offering me a temp job for 6 months till my 140 gets approved so I can use the approved 140 and move. But the catch is the new job requires a new H1 - different job description and pay. Will this affect my 140 filed with the old H1?
Let your lawyer confirm this: Get your I140 approval, if possible by using premium filing. File for a 3 year H1 extension. After extension, transfer H1 to new employer. Start GC process with new employer but maintaining your PD since your old employer aill not revoke your I140.

"h", and stating "Spouse has an approved I-140"
Since I am filing as dependent. Should it be "b" " my spouse or parent applied for adjustment..."
Does it hurt to choose "h"? Thanks!!
If you are a dependent, you should probably choose (b). I chose (b) for my dependent wife, which is what my attorney recommended. Don't know about (h), but why complicate matters?

Hello,
My wife is currently on H4 status. (Just the I-94, her visa expired last year October). She started her MS in Fall 2009. She already competed 2 Semesters of MS on H4 visa. We applied for her Change of Status to F1 visa in March. According to the USCIS processing dates, she will get the COS approved approximately in June 1st week.
She will have to travel to India this summer. The question we have is,
is it advisable to wait till she gets her F1 COS Approved and then go to India for F1 Stamping ?
or abandon the F1 COS and go for F1 stamping directly in India ?
Please advice if there are any risks involved here.

If the H1B is filled by his company it will be rejected. If it is filled by another company then there are no issues.

My current H1-B expires on 01/4/2011. I am planning to switch to EAD in November. What is the procedure to switch to EAD from H1-B. Is there any form that needs to be filled. Please advice. My company admin and HR have no idea and are asking me to find out for myself.

I think that you would need something like 3DSMax for that. It's not something that swift does well. I think if you created each finger joint in the lathe, and then put each together yourself, on the stage, you might be able to do it, but this is not something that swift does well.
