Presumably with a warrant and not on the fly at the side of the road without a warrant. Although I remember reading about some sort of site the gov has set up with the carriers where they can get info without warrants (patriot act thing).
Still they store it and can access it - nobody except my touches my iPhone and my Laptop. I actually enjoyed looking at the map. Nobody can access it on they fly on the road.

The logo on the center of the record, not the album artwork. The Beatle's logo looks like an apple to me, Apple's logo looks like an apple to me. We both know if the sides were reversed, Apple would have filed a suit.

Wouldn't a more relevant comparison be Apple and HP since they are both hardware companies and MS really isn't in the same category hardware wise?

I think this is enough to show that Microsoft is unequivocally correct. The term has been in use for much longer than Apple's launching of the store and it has been ubiquitous in the computer industry for a long time.
The way to distinguish (if it needs to be done) between app stores is by saying the name of the app store before hand, ie the Apple App Store, the Amazon App Store, or the Microsoft App Store.

Creative's stock up 30% in after-hours trading. The $100 million is a drop in the bucket for Apple, but it will certainly help Creative...

Couple of things
Kentsfield is not replacing conroe. Its only replacing conroe xe. Intel does not see mainstream quad core for atleast 2 years when s/w gets multithreaded. So Kentsfield should atleast cost $999 and would be seen in gaming platforms and workstations.
Tigerton is new xeon mp solution to replace netburst based tulsa. It is definately not pin compatible with kentsfield. Apple currently does not have any MP ( >= 4P solutions) in their portfolio. Maybe they would create one in their xserve portfolio. Tigerton would be extremely expensive as well.
iMac currently have laptop processors having around ~30w TDP. Kentsfield will have 110w tdp and I dont see Apple redesigning iMac to accomodate it. Maybe once intel has a native quad core on 45nm with around 60w TDP we will see a quad core in iMac.
Apple should release a "headless tower" with conroe/kentsfield. That should be significantly cheaper than Macpro.

The best thing about listening to music on my iPod is I can listen to it wherever I am, such as in the car. Can't get wifi in the car, and no way am I tethering to my phone just to listen to music.
There is the thing about having to carry around multiple devices when one (assuming you have an iPhone) will do it all just as well.

I predict a more powerful, larger storage, video iPod with a dock that has component/hdmi/whatever video and optical audio outs. No big deal. It's a natural progression from what's available today.

Herp derp. Im pretty sure there will be a minor spec bump as well, and exterior design in a laptop is a pretty important feature or a "function and should be taken in consideration just as well (or not even more) than a new "ixy procesor" and a "8650 gt mx" graphics card, which in most cases just serve as a hard on for spec geeks.

Oh yeah, I'm bitter that we're not still using Titanium for the exterior of the Pro Mac laptop line. Specs are what truly matter. If the chassis is designed to be sturdier, more rigid, and more durable, and easier to service than these models, that's a great upgrade. If it's only a stark cosmetic change, then that's not at all worth going nuts over, unless you, like many (but certainly not all) Apple customers, are superficial like that. Newer processors and better graphics DO matter as we use our computers for apps, and beyond using a freakin' web browser and running Word a lot of these apps demand the hardware to run them. And if they don't now, they will eventually. That's how computers work? Or are you still repping the Titanium PowerBook G4 yourself?

I have no mercy for anybody committing crimes.
Why are so many people on the side of robbers, gangsters and worry about their child hoods, abuse etc.etc.
We all have issues and don't snap or go stealing.
If somebody shows they don't want to be part of an orderly society and don't follow their rules,
live and die with the consequences!
As somebody posted already the security guard was put into a stress situation and once more and more facts come out
some lawyers (if this goes to court) will be digging into his life to find an angle that he is really the guilty party in all of this.
Plus, I am almost certain he will be "fired" or as they say "reassigned"

Thinking of the event last Tuesday, it was interesting that Steve finished the Keynote with,

He was pointing out where Apple products are - so why not your phone.
Jobs had a lot of events last year in the final quarter. I can see him doing another one soon.
(I know there is one coming up next week, but my bet on one in Oct. for the iPhone!)

Well if they were already make some accessories for the ipod they might actually be tempted to make one or two products sound cards for apple. What I would love to see is Creative licensing their X-FI audo tech to apple to put in the ipod. I have been hearing nothing but good things about X-Fi.

I'm calling it now. Apple's new "media center" device will be the iPod itself. I'm thinking that Apple will release a dock well suited for high definition video output to an HD tv.
People will purchase movies on iTunes, their movies will be transfered to their iPod upon updating and then, they can take their iPod to their TV (or anybody elses) for viewing movies on the large screen.
Remember.. I called it ;)

As a long time PC user who is just getting frustrated with the windows experience, I am looking forward to seeing what Mac has to offer in the coming months.
I've been using Windows since 3.1 (ugh) and Mac since 1990. I use both today - Mac by choice, Windows not by choice.
I think you're in for quite a pleasant surprise if/when you make the transition.
I converted to Linux in 2007 and Mac in 2009 after using Windows since version 3.1 and don't miss a thing! It's true what they say "Mac's just work."
The resident professional Microsoft astroturfers will be here shortly to point out the error of your ways. ;)

Vendors are expected to stick to their designated booth that they paid for. Conventions make money by charging for floorspace. What kind of leverage would they have to charge for premium or larger floorspace, if vendors could just get the smallest booth possible, but then flood the convention floor with people handing out brochures? Even though Greenpeace is not a vendor and probably received their booth space pro-bono, they should still stick to the convention floor rules.

why would I want to pay someone $17 an hour to a job a monkey is almost qualified to do? Sounds like an opportunity to hire less people, or jack my prices up. A job is worth simply what a job is worth. Period. If I'm trying to offer services at competitive prices, and someone is willing to bag groceries for $3 an hour, then they should be ALLOWED to. Rather than me just choose to hire nobody and using automated checkouts.
What happens then? More people outside the country find jobs, and prices go down. $3 dollars suddenly buys you a subway sandwich. # of consumers goes up bc more people outside the country are employed, which brings in more revenue at the cost of local jobs, causes more hiring outside the country etc.

They've actually created an AI based on a download of Steve's brain into a Mac Pro and will use one of the new VoiceOver personalities as its voice.
